11-01-09 Most of the renovations have been completed; only part of the kitchen remodeling needs to be completed. The front portion of the area where the bowling alley used to be has been renovated and made into an area for extra dining, or other activities as needed. We have had karaoke and birthday parties in this area. It can be ‘closed off’ from the bar area for private parties or ‘opened up’ to extend the bar area.
We have had patrons come from Avon, Tripp, Scotland, Wagner, Parkston, and Mitchell, as well as our local area. We know that the ‘word of mouth’ advertising is the best kind, and Chris, Walt, and Pam have consistently put out excellent food and service.
You can now enjoy ‘Rib Fest’ on Thursday evenings with a combination of pork and beef ribs cooked with a lip smacking delectable sauce. That’s in addition to the ‘All You Can Eat Fish Fry’ on Friday evening, and the featuring of prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays.
They have lots of parties booked for the holiday season. One for next week will be a ‘sit down’ dinner for 110 persons. They will be impressed, as the food has been great!! It will be a great ‘boost’ and wonderful advertising.
Pam’s dress shop is ‘up and running’ with three (3) new employees! She filled an order for 50 dresses last week. And are they ever cute! You can call her at 605-779-2050 to place orders for your little princesses; perhaps you need a Christmas dress; she has lots of very cute ones!
We want to thank those investors who have recently increased their contributions to this project. That has helped a great deal in getting the business ‘off the ground’. Be sure to stop and check out ‘your’ new business when you’re in the area. We think you’ll like it. Again, thank you!

Delmont Steakhouse & Lounge Update 9-21-09
The roof has been replaced; the basement is cleaned out; the walls and ceilings have been washed and painted; new carpet has been laid in the bar area; it has been cleaned from ‘top to bottom’!! Delmont Investors, LLC hired Chris Meyer as manager for the Delmont Steakhouse & Lounge; it opened for the July 4th weekend for beverages only. It was a great weekend for Delmont; the ‘gathering place’ for the community was full of people and excitement! It was great for people to be able to get together again and visit!!
July 24th was another milestone; the kitchen was ready for business; it has been extended to include the area that had been used as the buffet area. They opened with a great menu of steaks, seafood, and short orders. From all reports, the food has been delicious! On the weekend, you can also enjoy dinner music played on our baby grand piano.
Since the opening, the LLC has also purchased a chicken broaster and a ‘cook & hold’ for the preparation of prime rib. You can enjoy prime rib on Saturday evenings and an ‘all you can eat’ fish fry on Friday nights.
The bowling alley portion of the building has been converted into a production and sales area for a little girl’s dress shop (Kiddin’ Around) run by the manager’s fiancée, Pam. She is planning on hiring three to four local residents to help with the production of these dresses.
The LLC has had to increase the amount of money that it intended to borrow in order to cover the additional expenses of increasing the size of the kitchen and remodeling the bowling alley area. We increased the amount of our loan to $50,000.
We are excited about having these two businesses in town; we believe they are a great asset to the Delmont community and the surrounding area.
If you know of anyone that would like to contribute to this project and promote the Delmont community, please contact The Delmont Investors, LLC at PO Box 68 Delmont, SD 57330 or call 605-779-2551.

Delmont Steakhouse Project Update 4-22-09
Our offer of $50,000 for the Delmont Steakhouse has been accepted. The closing date is set for June 10, 2009.
We are excited and anxious to get started on the needed repairs which will include replacing the roof, repairing a portion of the flooring, painting, etc. While we expect that a lot of the labor will be provided by volunteers, we will need to raise additional monies or borrow it. We estimate that we will need up to $35,000 to do the repairs, and stock the inventory.
We have begun to collect the pledges that have been made in order to meet the June 10th closing date.
We appreciate the participation of all those of you who have made pledges. We would appreciate any encouragement that you can give others who might be willing to join Delmont Investors, LLC to promote this project and the community.
We are now in the process of searching for a manager and will be placing an ad in the statewide classifieds in May. You can see an expanded version of this ad following this update.
Thanks again for your interest in keeping our community a thriving place to live and to visit!! |

Manager needed for Delmont Steakhouse & Lounge A MANAGER is being sought for the Delmont Steakhouse & Lounge. A personable go-getter is needed for the small town bar, steakhouse and bowling alley. We are looking for the right person to be able to bring this establishment back to its glory days as a gathering place for both the town and the larger community around it.

The right manager will have a track record of being a person who knows how to cook a full dinner line of prime rib, steaks, chicken, and fish, as well as the short orders needed for breakfasts and lunches. The right manager will be able to lead employees, as well as please the public.
This is an opportunity to work into owning your own business, as assistance in the future will be available from both the investors and the Delmont Non-Profit Development Corporation.

Progress Report on Delmont Investors, LLC Project to open the Delmont Steakhouse & Lounge
Since June, 2008, Delmont Non-Profit Development Corporation has been seeking to raise $100,000 to purchase the business, do roof repair and minor interior updates, restock the inventory, and hire a manager.
Feb. 20, 2009
n To date, we have received pledges and donations of $43,041.57 which includes the following: o We raised $4,203.50 at our Simply South Dakota’ tasting event which was held after the annual New Year's Eve parade. o We raised $1,680.00 at our ‘Soup, Sandwich, & Dessert’ fundraiser in November. o We raised $1,813.07 at our 4th of July meal fundraiser.
n We have formed the Delmont Investors, LLC and are in the process of getting signatures of all the members on the ‘Operating Agreement’. When that process is completed (we hope by the end of the month), we plan to proceed with making an offer on the property. If we don’t have enough money on hand by that time, we will need to try to borrow the additional needed monies. It is expected that we will need $80,000 to $100,000 in order to get the business ‘up and running’. |
